Town of Windsor Delays Facility Openings on Thursday

Due to the current Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, Town of Windsor municipal facilities will open 2-hours later than normal on Thursday, Dec. 22. The Community Recreation Center will open at 7 a.m.  Town Hall, the Police Department and Public Services will open at 10 a.m. Police officers remain on duty 24/7.

With the temperature expected to drop extremely low, residents are encouraged to observe the following safety precautions:

  • Extreme cold weather can pose a danger to your health and safety. Limit time outdoors when possible.
  • Take necessary precautions to keep pets safe if they need to go outdoors. Limit their outdoor exposure.
  • As snow is forecasted, be aware that roads may be slick. Snow crews will be out but deicing materials are ineffective below 15 degrees.
  • Take action to prevent frozen pipes. A dripping faucet can help keep water moving through the plumbing system. Opening cabinets under sinks that are adjacent to exterior walls may also help prevent frozen pipes.
