WINDSOR, Colo.— The Town of Windsor invites the public to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to tour the expansion of the Windsor Archery Range, 465 Poudre Trail Dr. on Monday, Oct. 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The project was made possible through a generous Colorado Parks and Wildlife grant and the event also celebrates their contribution.

The archery range was awarded funds from the Colorado Shooting Range Development Grant, which is managed by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), in February 2020. The CPW grant covered $100,000 of the $130,000 total cost of the project.

Residents will have the opportunity to explore the archery range expansion. The ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Paul Rennemeyer will debut various renovations and amenities. The range features target shooting from 10 yards to 65 yards. Additional amenities include a 3D archery course along the Poudre River that features 17 animal targets, 6 new block targets, two raised target platforms including one with ADA accessibility, a shelter for classes, along with parking lot and trail improvements. Attendees are invited to bring their equipment and use the range following the ribbon cutting.

“The anticipation for the opening of the expanded archery range makes me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve,” said Public Services Director Eric Lucas. “I am certain that this project will instantly make Windsor a destination for archery on the front range.”

The Town of Windsor also received in-kind donations from FCI Constructors, Corbel Engineering, and Traverse Builders LLC.

The range will be open seven days a week year-round, from sunrise to sunset. It is located on the corner of State Hwy. 257 and Poudre Trail Dr. The facility will be available to the public for recreation use. Entrance to the range is free of charge.
