Memorial Day Public Facility Hours Announced

On Monday, May 30, Windsor’s Community Recreation Center and administrative offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. The Windsor Police Department administrative offices will be closed, but officers will remain on duty. 

Public facilities that remain open on Memorial Day include Chimney Park Pool, Windsor Lake, and the Eastman River Experience. 

Chimney Park Pool, 421 Chimney Park Dr., will operate under its normal hours, noon until 5 p.m., on Memorial Day. Admission is $2.50 for children 5 and under, $3.50 for youth ages 6 to 17 and anyone over 50, $4 for visitors 18 and older, and there is a family rate that includes up to four people for $12. 

The Windsor Recreation Department offers a variety of rentals at Windsor Lake, 100 N. 5th St., as well as tube rentals at the Eastman River Experience, 7025 Eastman Park Drive. Windsor Lake has kayak, paddleboard, water trike, canoe, and Corcl rentals for $10 per 30 minute rental. Hobie Pedalboards are also available at Windsor Lake for $12 per 30 minute rental. The Eastman River Experience has tube rentals available for $15 per day per tube at the Eastman Park shelter. 

There will be a public Memorial Day remembrance ceremony held at Windsor’s Lakeview Cemetery at 9 a.m., Monday, May 30, weather permitting. American Legion Post 109 will host the ceremony in conjunction with the Town of Windsor. The cemetery is located on the southwest corner of Hwy. 392 and Hwy. 257.
