Xcel Energy Hosts Open House for New North Windsor Substation

Employee checking electric box

Windsor residents and businesses are invited to a public open house to learn more about Xcel Energy’s Avery Substation, which will be located in north Windsor and will soon be providing electric service to our community. The meeting will be held Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to noon at Windsor’s Community Recreation Center Pine Room.

Xcel staff will be available to provide end-of-construction information, including how you can prepare for brief power outages that may occur as Avery Substation is placed in service. Detailed outage information will be available at the meeting and communicated via the project website and e-newsletter in the coming weeks. Contact [email protected] to register for the Avery Substation email list.

During construction, some neighborhoods may experience brief power outages but those outages should be limited to a few neighborhoods when Xcel energizes the new substation in May; Xcel will have information on which neighborhoods will be most impacted at their open house.
