Adopters help make Windsor a great place to live, work, and play. Volunteer to make a difference by adopting a local park or trail today!
What does it mean to adopt a park or trail?
By adopting a park or a trail, you commit to keeping it a clean and beautiful place for everyone. This includes monthly responsibilities, such as weed pulling and landscape maintenance, as well as regular duties, such as monitoring for issues and picking up litter. We ask for at least a one- year commitment.
Who can adopt?
Individuals, families, community organizations, school groups, churches, neighborhood associations, and businesses are all eligible to adopt a park. Adopters must live or work in Windsor or a nearby community.

How do I get started?
- Assemble your team! Whether it's your neighbors, your family, or your coworkers, you'll need to identify some fellow volunteers.
- Choose a park or section of trail to adopt! Use the map to explore areas and review the expectations. We recommend finding something close to home that you will be able to visit frequently.
- Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule a tour of the park or trail with Parks staff. Staff will explain the expectations for the area, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions. If it's a good fit, you will be invited to complete an adoption agreement.
